Born from the industry.
The name and idea for our studio came from a passion for both visual design and the food & beverage industry.
After graduating from art school and studying graphic design, I struck out on my own as a freelance designer. I had a few other entrepreneurial endeavors as well. In my mid-to-late twenties I had the pleasure of learning all about making craft cocktails at some fine establishments in the greater DMV area while maintaining my freelance practice.
During that time I was able to watch and admire the creative minds in kitchens. The combination of creativity and technical skill that happens in the food & beverage industry is magical.
While DesignChef is a studio for all types of creative brands and organizations, the food and beverage industry is what inspired our formation in 2022.

The Founder
Meet the “chef"
DesignChef is a design studio of one. Justin Young is a veteran of the design industry, in addition to spending over 5 years working in the restaurant industry producing craft cocktails. He is a DMV native, graduating from Montgomery College, majoring in Graphic Design.
In addition to managing DesignChef, he is also pursuing a B.S. in Software Engineering at ASU.
